Rashon Barksdale Admitted to the Graduate School of Syracuse University

WILBERFORCE, OH - Central State University graduating honors scholar Rashon Barksdale has been admitted to the Graduate School of Syracuse University. The faculty in Television, Radio and Film admitted Barksdale for Summer 2022 as a Master of Arts student.

Newhouse’s television, radio and film program gives students the skills they need to be part of the creative, management and production processes of the television, radio, film and online entertainment industries.

Of his time at Central State University, Barksdale said, "I had my ups and downs, pain and pleasure. Through it all, I loved every bit of the journey."

"I am making history as the first student from Central State University to enter the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. This means the world to me and I am looking forward to representing Central during the next stage of my life. Hopefully, I am opening up the door and I pray that more students from Central that are communication majors follow," said Barksdale.

Dr. Paul A. Schlag, the Executive Director of Honors and International Affairs said, "Rashon is a prime example that students can go anywhere from their seats at Central State University with proper planning."

"Obviously, the Graduate School at Syracuse recognizes that CSU helped to develop a talented, creative, innovative and exceptional scholar in Rashon Barksdale. Like Rashon, our students are prepared to compete in the Nation's top graduate schools," noted Schlag.
